What changed

The SAB Foundation has opened applications for its Tholoana Enterprise Programme, delivered by Fetola. It is an 18-month programme with tailored support to strengthen leadership, business systems, financial capability and market access.

Who it affects

To apply, you must:

  • be a South African citizen, a majority shareholder and key decision-maker, working full-time in the business
  • run a business that is at least 51% black-owned and managed, registered and operating in South Africa
  • have traded for at least two years, with paying customers, recurring revenue and repeat demand
  • show a viable business model with credible growth potential
  • commit to the full 18 months

Priority goes to businesses owned by women, youth and persons with disabilities, and businesses based in or serving rural and township communities.

What to do

  1. Read the eligibility criteria and application guidance on the SAB Foundation page.
  2. Gather what shows your trading history: financial records, customer evidence and your registration documents.
  3. Apply through the official portal before midday on 13 October 2026. Do not leave it to the last day: portals slow down near closing.

For help with the application, the programme team lists sabfoundationtholoana@fetola.co.za and 086 111 1690.
